Removal of lift shaft in Carpark in Auckland,
New Zealand
 An
eighteen metre high by five metre square lift shaft,
with walls 250mm. thick had to be removed from a carpark
that was in use.
The lift shaft was adjacent to the entrance to the car
park that was off a busy inner city street. Because
of site conditions, the maximum weight of a slab was
limited to 4 tonnes. An electric hoist was used to lower
the pieces to street level for disposal off site.
We used a Hydrostress electric-hydraulic wall saw to
do this job. The job took 24 working days to complete.
